H-JELLY: NANOENCAPSULASION TECHNOLOGY BASED
JELLY ENRICHED WITH PINEAPPLE, BANANA PEEL, AND OYSTER MUSHROOMS AS MALNUTRITION SOLUTION FOR HIV PATIENTS

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) has become a topical issue in the world. One of the developing countries are facing a serious problem of HIV is Indonesia. The solution is never applied anti-retroviral drugs (ARVs) may help reduce the morbidity and premature mortality due to HIV infection and extend the life of the patient. Weakness of ARVs is the use of combination antiretroviral drugs can increase the danger of contradictory effects of the drug, reduce the potential antiretroviral resistance, side effects and compliance seriously compromise lifelong antiretroviral consumption. Authors provide a solution that is H-Jelly which is a food supplement for people with HIV which are able to suppress the replication of the HIV virus and prevent disease progression. H-Jelly utilize three basic ingredients to enhance the nutritional value in order to provide a solution to malnutrition HIV. The third ingredient is pineapple, banana peels, and oyster mushrooms. Pineapple acts as a source of bromelain enzyme which is a proteolytic enzyme that can catalyze HIV capsid proteins hydrolysis. Banana peel contains vitamin C, E, and B6. Vitamin C can act as an antioxidant, while B6 may stimulate serotonin as an anti-depressant. Oyster mushrooms act as a source of β-glucan to stimulate the immune system. Third base material is processed with nanoencapsulation technology that has advantage can protect the compound from damage,decomposition, and loss of nutrients during processing and to improve the ability of a compound to achieve targeted treatments so as to minimize side effects. In order to be utilized to the maximum by the body, then the base material is combined with the kappa carrageenan as an emulsifier to make it easier to consume H-Jelly as a snack and improve the digestive tract of consumers with HIV / AIDS. Advantages H-Jelly is promoting socioecotechnology output so that the presence of these products not only prevent complications in patients, but also improve the quality of life, lifting Indonesian local products, as well as introducing and utilizing nanotechnology in society at large. The relevant stakeholders concerned in this program is government; in particular the Ministry of Health, society, and the company. Strategic steps undertaken to achieve that provide socialization in society, the introduction of technology, build partnerships with relevant stakeholders, promote and market the product in the community and realize the target Socioecotechnology on a wide scale.
